ミニヴァー夫人の息子ヴィンは、大学で社会主義に目覚め当地の名門家の娘キャロルに対して議論をもちかけ、そこから恋に発展するが、花の品評会の主催者でもある祖母のぺルドン夫人は二人の恋に猛反対した。しかし、戦争が夫人の考えを変え、二人は婚約。そしてすぐにヴィンは出征した。一旦帰ってきたヴィンとキャロルは結婚、その後花の展覧会が行われる。ミニヴァー夫人に促されて、ぺルドン夫人は自分の独壇場であったはずのバラ部門の賞を駅長に与える。しかし、その後悪化する戦況で、ミニヴァー邸は・・・。
