古臭い制度や考え方がはびこる田舎町を舞台に、自分の意見をはっきりと主張する若い女教師を主人公に味方する校医、そしてイジメにあう女子高生とそれを助ける青年、狭い町で展開する事件は、女子高内で、イジメの手口としてニセのラブレターが届けられ、それを問題視した女教師も敵視されるという現代にも通じる要素を含んでいるが、この作品はさわやかな青春映画である。
